My TV is dead

I've not been watching TV since the switch from analog into digital.

The digital converter box could be the answer.(I don't want to have any cable hooked up ,cuz that's too expensive.) 

However, I don't feel bad in this situation.

Should i have TV on even though I am alone? 

Oh!!!...I almost forgot my kitties. They love watching TV.:(
